The right Google Calendar integrations can help your schedule breathe while making your and your team’s day more productive. However, that gets difficult when your Google Calendar is packed with blue blocks. The foundation of remote work was to give people the freedom and flexibility to operate in a manner that’s most productive for them. While that was (and to an extent still is) the sentiment, it doesn’t have to be. “There is a general sense that we never stop being in front of Zoom or interacting,” says Raffaella Sadun, professor of business administration in the HBS Strategy Unit. An analysis of the emails and meetings of 3.1 million people in 16 global cities established that the average workday went up by 8.2 percent during the pandemic’s early weeks as employees participated in more meetings.

“But your experience in or apps from Google will not change in any way.A recent study with more than three million people confirmed a feeling that’s not new: everyone’s swamped and tired. “This will allow new features to light up, and changes to update back and forth with Gmail-such as creation, edit or deletion of emails, calendar events, and contacts,” Kumar writes.

Instead of natively supporting Gmail-type accounts, Microsoft requires users to sync a copy of their email, calendar, and contacts to the “Microsoft Cloud” in order to access these new features. New versions of the Mail and Calendar apps will begin rolling out to a select group of testers in the Fast ring of the Windows 10 Insider Preview “over the next several weeks.” So these new app versions and capabilities should head out to others–others in the Fast ring, and then those in the Slow ring or on the production versions of Windows 10-after that. And now Microsoft is doing the work to bring these features to those who use Gmail and Google Calendar as well.

Kumar explains, they were only available to those with (really, Microsoft accounts) or Office 365 accounts.īut time marches ever on. Microsoft delivered a major update to these apps back in February, adding Focused Inbox, richer experiences for travel reservations and package deliveries, and several other new features.
